Sophie Malpas Portrait at The Crown

Sophie is a multi-media artist and creative facilitator based in St Leonards-on-sea, East Sussex. In her practice Sophie is drawn to observations of joy and seeks to create playful pieces to spark elation for the viewer. With a profound interest in the psychological power of colour Sophie explores colour relationships through shape and form that cultivate feelings of happiness, pleasure and a free mind.

Sophie hosts collage workshop sessions as “Cut Stick Create”, these sessions are all about creative play, and an opportunity to enjoy the simplicity of cutting and sticking. The workshops allow participants to enjoy the creative process without the pressure, desire or need to create something “perfect”.
